Deshantari of Ottawa Carleton is a non-profit cultural and charitable organization set up by the local Bengali Community in 1972. We play a vital role in promoting Bengali culture, fostering friendships, and enhancing community awareness among both Bengalis and the broader multicultural society. Through cultural events, such as Durga Puja, Pohela Boishakh (Bengali New Year), annual picnic, and literary gatherings, the organization preserves and shares the rich heritage of Bengal. It also engages younger generations and keep traditions alive. By organizing charity drives, social initiatives, and seniors networking events, the organization strengthens community bonds and supports those in need. Additionally, it collaborates with other cultural groups to promote diversity, mutual understanding, and social harmony in Ottawa, creating a welcoming space for all.
